The Battle River Alliance for Economic Development (BRAED) is a collaboration between 25 communities and affiliate members in East-Central Alberta. BRAED was established in 2001 and incorporated as a not-for-profit company in 2002. As an economic development organization, BRAED’s main source of revenue is from annual membership fees and government and partnership support.

Alberta Government
BRAED works with various ministries within the Alberta Government. We advocate on behalf of member communities and communicate key priorities, initiatives, and programs that impact the region. Partnerships include those related to Jobs, Economy & Innovation, as well as Agriculture, Forestry & Rural Economic Development.

Prairies Economic Development Canada
PrairiesCan is the department that diversifies the economy across the Canadian Prairies. BRAED works with PrairiesCan in building a strong, competitive Canadian economy by supporting business, innovation and community economic development unique to Alberta.

Invest Alberta
Invest Alberta promotes Alberta as a premier investment destination to international investors. BRAED partners with Invest Alberta to attract and support this investment in the Battle River region.

Travel Alberta
Travel Alberta is the destination management organization of the Government of Alberta. Travel Alberta aids in promoting various tourist attractions and destinations within the Battle River region.

Community Futures
Community Futures Alberta provides advanced business programs and resources within Alberta. This includes their regional East Central, East Parkland, and Meridian organizations within the Battle River region.
